Privacy Policy
Updated September 29, 2026
1. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the service, we may collect account identifiers and contact information; profile and preference information; booking, session and transaction records; Reader application and onboarding information; customer-service and safety communications; reviews and messages; device, browser, log and security information; and consent or preference records.
2. Sources of information
We may receive information directly from you, from activity on Sacred Readers, from Sacred Readers or customers involved in a transaction, and from service providers that support payments, communications, hosting, analytics, identity or safety functions. We do not treat information received from a third-party screening provider as permission to collect the provider’s underlying sensitive screening inputs.
3. How we use information
We use information to create and secure accounts; operate Reader applications and onboarding; schedule and deliver sessions; process payments and payouts; provide customer support; send requested or operational communications; maintain transcripts where the product provides them; personalize permitted account features; measure service performance; detect fraud and abuse; enforce policies; comply with legal obligations; and protect users, Readers and the platform.
4. Sacred Reader background screening
After conditional approval, a Reader applicant may be directed to a third-party background-screening provider. Star of Danu plans to use an approved third-party consumer reporting agency for this process. Star of Danu’s design is not to collect or store the applicant’s Social Security number, date of birth, identity-document images or other sensitive inputs used by the screening provider. Those inputs should be submitted directly to the provider’s secure system. Star of Danu may retain limited operational screening information such as authorization status, provider/case reference, relevant dates, workflow status, decision code and limited administrative notes. See the Background Screening Policy.
5. Payments and financial information
Payment and payout services may be provided by third-party processors. Star of Danu does not intentionally store full payment-card numbers in its application database. We may retain transaction identifiers, amounts, status, refund information and accounting records needed to operate the service.
6. Customer privacy in Reader-facing tools
The product is designed to limit the customer information shown to a Reader to what is reasonably needed to provide the service. By default, a Reader-facing experience should rely on the customer’s username rather than exposing the customer’s email address or unnecessary identity information. Optional customer choices may change what is shown where the product clearly says so.
7. Communications, email and SMS
We may send transactional communications relating to accounts, applications, bookings, sessions, payments, safety or service changes. SMS is optional and is not a condition of creating an account or purchasing a reading. Mobile information and SMS consent are not sold, rented or shared with third parties for their own marketing or promotional purposes. See the Mobile Messaging Terms.
8. Messages, session records, recordings and transcripts
Star of Danu does not record or transcribe phone or video readings and does not offer audio or video recording features. Written chat readings are saved as text transcripts in the customer’s My Readings area. Written transcripts are available to the customer through their signed-in My Readings area and to the participating reader through their session history. They are stored as service records, not publicly displayed. Authorized access may also be needed for support, safety, disputes or legal obligations. Communication providers process technical information needed to connect calls, such as participant connection details, call times, duration and service logs. Star of Danu also retains booking, billing and operational records. These records are distinct from an audio or video recording or a transcript of spoken conversation. Reader Mail is retained separately as written communications. See the Recording & Transcription Notice.
9. Cookies, analytics and similar technologies
We may use cookies, local storage, logs and similar technologies for sign-in, preferences, security, fraud prevention, performance measurement and analytics. Marketing or advertising technologies, if introduced, should be configured with the notices and choices required for the applicable use. See the Cookie & Tracking Technologies Notice.
10. How information may be disclosed
We may disclose information to service providers and processors that perform functions for us, such as hosting, database services, payments, communications, video, fraud prevention, background screening or customer support; to professional advisers; in connection with a corporate transaction; or when reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce rights, investigate abuse or protect safety. Service providers should receive only information reasonably necessary for their role and should be subject to appropriate contractual and legal obligations.
11. Sale, sharing and targeted advertising
Star of Danu does not intend to sell personal information. If we introduce advertising or data practices that constitute a regulated “sale,” “sharing” or targeted advertising under applicable state law, we will update this policy and provide legally required notices and opt-out mechanisms before or when those practices apply.
12. Retention
Written transcripts remain stored with the reading; no automatic transcript-deletion period is currently applied by the application. Removing a reading from your list hides it and does not erase the stored transcript. The data-retention preference does not automatically delete transcripts. You may request deletion through our privacy request process; account-deletion requests are reviewed and do not immediately erase records. Some records may be retained for legal, accounting, dispute or safety purposes as described in this policy.
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including providing the service, maintaining financial and tax records, addressing fraud and safety, resolving disputes and complying with legal obligations. Retention periods may differ by record type. Account deletion does not necessarily require deletion of records that law permits or requires us to retain.
13. Security
We use administrative, technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information and service. No internet system can be guaranteed completely secure. Users should protect credentials and promptly report suspected unauthorized account access.
14. Privacy rights and requests
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability or information about certain data practices, and to appeal or opt out of certain processing where required by law. We may need to verify a request before acting on it. See Privacy Rights & Requests for the operational request process and state-specific disclosures as they are finalized.
15. Children
Sacred Readers is an adults-only service and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly offer Sacred Readers accounts or sessions to minors.
16. Third-party links and services
Sacred Readers may link to or integrate services operated by other companies. Their privacy practices are governed by their own notices. We encourage users to review those notices when leaving or interacting through the Star of Danu service.
17. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service, vendors or legal requirements change. Material changes will be communicated in a manner appropriate to the change and applicable law.
18. Contact
Privacy questions and requests may be submitted through Help & Contact and the account privacy tools described in Privacy Rights & Requests.
